Things to see in Mallorca Spain
Palma de Mallorca
The island’s capital, the largest city in the Balearic archipelago and also the town with the most monuments. You must spend a few hours in Palma de Mallorca, if not a full day. You won’t regret it.
Discover the impressive Cathedral of Mallorca, the Bellver Castle, the Almudaina Palace, its Roman remains, the narrow streets of the Jewish quarter, the Mallorcan patios, the promenade, the beaches and much, much more.
DeiĂ , the most charming village Mallorca Spain
This picturesque village is located in the heart of the Serra de Tramuntana between the towns of Valldemossa and SĂ³ller. One of the most charming villages in Mallorca, DeiĂ captivates you with its atmosphere, natural surroundings and tranquillity. Famous for being one of the most bohemian villages on the island, let yourself be carried away by its cobbled streets and enjoy its impressive cove, Cala DeiĂ , as well as the panoramic views of the Mediterranean.
Formentor, the most impressive viewpoint in Mallorca Spain
If you are in the north of Mallorca you cannot miss the Cap de Formentor. This is where the Serra de Tramuntana meets the Mediterranean, at the end of a 20-kilometre peninsula. The scenery along this dramatic road is truly spectacular, with viewpoints at Mal Pas and the Talaia d’Albercutx tower.
The area around the lighthouse has incredible views of this wild hillside. The white sandy beach with its pine forest is one of the most spectacular on the island. Its views of the bay of Pollença and crystal clear waters make it one of the north coast’s great attractions.
Sant Elm and the island of Sa Dragonera
This little corner in the north of Mallorca is marvellous. There isn’t much urban development which gives it a very special charm. Sant Elm is a small coastal town located in the northwest corner of the island. With barely 400 inhabitants, this old fishing village in the Tramontana mountain range is opposite a special island: Sa Dragonera.
This is a great spot in Mallorca for those who love hiking and adventures. The only way to access the Natural Park of Sa Dragonera is by boats that leave Sant Elm regularly.
La Calobra and the Torrent de Pareis
The beauty of the heart of the Tramuntana mountain range in Mallorca is such that a road was built for the sole purpose of reaching this location. But this isn’t an “ordinary” road, far from it. The road to La Calobra climbs up to 700 metres, and from there it descends to sea level. It is 13 kilometres of pure nature. Along the way, find amazing viewpoints (like nudo de la corbata), the highest mountain in Mallorca, the typical rocky landscape, and if you are lucky, some black vultures. Finally, you will arrive at La Calobra.
La Calobra is a small and isolated place, but it is one of the most visited places in Mallorca Spain. This is the mouth of the Pareis torrent, a marvel of nature. At this estuary, surrounded by high walls, a beautiful small pebble beach is formed.
Pollença
Pollença is an ancient village in the north of the island. It has attractive narrow streets and an impressive main square surrounded by cafĂ©s, restaurants and bars. And this is all just a few kilometres from Puerto de Pollença. Its Roman bridge, signposted ‘Pont Roma‘ is still in use. Climb the 365 steps of the village’s Puig de Calvari and you’ll be rewarded with breathtaking views. In August, as part of the town’s annual festivities, they re-enact the battle that took place between the locals and the Moors in the invasion of 1550.
There is also the annual Pollensa Festival, with cultural and musical events that take place in the Santo Domingo cloister. Don’t miss the Sunday market either!
Things to see in San Telmo, a beautiful village in Mallorca Spain
San Telmo is a picturesque and quiet fishing village in the southwest of Mallorca. It has a very interesting history – the village was ravaged by pirates and bandits and was often the main point of entry during various invasions of the island. But don’t worry, our suggested activity has nothing to do with pirates. Instead, we recommend hiring some paddle boards and spending a few hours paddling, snorkelling and swimming near the village.
It is a very beautiful area to explore and have fun jumping off cliffs. Also, if you visit San Telmo in early August, you can enjoy one of the town’s most popular festivals. It commemorates the battle between the Moors and the Christians.

Things to do in Mallorca Spain
Jumping at Es PontĂ s
One of the most beautiful natural arches in the Mediterranean and one of the most iconic images of Mallorca. Es PontĂ s gets its name from the enormous natural rock bridge located in the sea in front of Cala SantanyĂ. Here you will find ropes for jumping into the water and people diving in the crystal-clear waters. This rock formation is surrounded by cliffs and pine trees that you can explore after jumping off the arch.
Hiking at the Cala Figuera cove
Perhaps one of the most impressive and beautiful coves in Mallorca. Surrounded by steep cliffs, you can venture down to this cove along a very pleasant path admiring the marvellous views of rock formations. The path is not usually very busy, so you can take your photos at your leisure. There is a good atmosphere with bars and restaurants where you can relax and have a drink. There are short and long hiking trails starting at the cove that allow you to admire nature on foot.
Skating at the Faro de Formentor lighthouse
The Formentor lighthouse is still in use and located on the great cliffs of the Cap de Formentor. It is the tallest in the Balearic Islands at 210 metres above sea level. This is one of the best places on the island to watch the sunset, but even better for thrill seekers to skate down the winding roads of the mountain. It is an extraordinary experience, under the orange tones of the sky with the wind hitting your face. The road surface is perfect for skating and the bends make the descent even more fun so you can feel completely free.
Rent a boat in Cala del Mago
El Mago is an unspoilt cove, with fine white sand, crystal clear waters and surrounded by a forest that creates a secluded and peaceful atmosphere. To reach this paradisiacal cove and have a luxurious experience, we recommend renting a boat in Puerto Portals and enjoying a carefree day. This cove is the ideal place to moor the boat, bathe in the serene waters and have lunch in peace, appreciating nature. Have a dreamy day and escape the stress of life for a while.
Jetski in el Arenal
El Arenal is one of the most touristy areas of the island, with most visitors looking for nightlife and the long white sandy beach lined with palm trees. It is not as notorious as Magaluf, but it is a very lively area in summer with many daily and nightly activities, often frequented by young people between 18-30 years old. It has a marina which is one of its main attractions.
The best thing to do is to rent jet skis, the best summer activity in Mallorca. There are options for individuals or for two people, for half an hour or an hour, and prices vary between €60 and €80. Also worth mentioning is sailing, a very popular sport in El Arenal thanks to the Club NĂ¡utico El Arenal, which has been visited by King Juan Carlos I and his family.
Hiking in the Sierra de Tramontana
The Tramontana mountain range is one of the main geographic attractions in Mallorca, as it has some of Spain’s most unique cliffs, and rocky landscapes that meet the coves and beaches that make up the rest of the coastline. The mountain area has a large number of caves, the most famous being the Cuevas del Drach.
The Sierra de Tramontana is the backbone of Mallorca, 90 km long and whose highest peak, Puig Major, has a height of 1,445 metres, making it the highest mountain in the Balearic Islands. It is the perfect place for hiking along its countless routes such as the ‘ruta de pedra en sec’, which stretches from Andratx to Pollença. This 8-stage route allows you to discover the most authentic side of Mallorca, walking along the cobbled paths that used to connect the old mountain villages.
Tramontana has wilder landscapes that are perfect for adventure lovers, as here you can do extreme sports such as rock climbing, canyoning and coasteering. Another way to enjoy the sierra is by boat, where you will have a spectacular view of the cliffs whilst being able to admire the marine life as well.
Swimming to the islet at Alcanada Beach
This cove does not stand out for its sand or calm waters, but for its exceptional location that has views of the bay of Alcudia, the islet and its lighthouse. The cove is frequented by local families and there is no mass tourism, and nearby you will find unspoilt areas where you can swim peacefully.
However, the best thing to do, without a doubt, is to swim the 100 metres to the small island and discover all its magical corners. There are even days when it is possible to walk across the strait at low tide. The beautiful lighthouse of Alcanada was built in 1861 and the island in general is full of charm that you can enjoy on your own.
