What to see around Benidorm?

1. Church of San Jaime and Santa Ana

The church of San Jaime, also known as the church of the Virgen del Sufragio, is located on top of a rock that sits at the top of the old town. It’s a place crowded with tourists, but well worth a visit especially if you love photography – you’re sure to capture the best photos during your stay in Benidorm.

This church has a very beautiful blue dome which has a wonderful decoration and in which the most important religious festivities of Benidorm are celebrated, such as the patron saint festivities, Holy Week or the feast of Sant Jaume and Santa Ana, the parish’s patron saints.

2. Springs of Algar

The Fuentes del Algar is 27 minutes and about 19.5 km by road from Benidorm. It is a lovely place to enjoy nature and swim in the fresh, green and crystal clear waters that fall from the waterfalls. There you will find several areas to dive into as various pools are formed, each with its own charm and unique shape.

3. Sierra Helada Natural Park

Called La Serra Gelada in Valencia. A perfect place to go for a lovely walk breathing fresh air with incredible views up to the lighthouse. 4. Tossal de la Cala

A must, both for its spectacular viewpoint, from which you can enjoy wonderful views of Benidorm and its surroundings, and for the famous archaeological site, called Castellum Romano, which you will walk along until you reach the viewpoint.

If you’re lucky enough to get a guided tour of the Castellum Romano, your experience will be enhanced considerably. In addition, you’ll discover what life was like back then and soak up the history of the site. The site is accessible, but being at the top of the hill, you have to bear in mind that the walk to the viewpoint is steep, so it requires a lot of physical effort which will be rewarded once you reach the top.

5. Benidorm Island

L’Illa de Benidorm is located on the coast of Benidorm and is a place you can’t miss. Enjoy the scenic horizon, as well as breathing the fresh air it offers. 6. Villajoyosa

Visit this town in the Valencia Region, which is only 13 km from Benidorm, approximately 12 minutes by car. 7. Guadalest

The surrounding area of Benidorm is a marvellous place, and takes less than half an hour by road. Guadalest is no exception, the drive will take you approximately 23 minutes.

Here you can look out over the Guadalest Valley and go canoeing on the reservoir. There are also several options for hiking in the Sierra de Aitana. Don’t forget to visit its castles and museums and take advantage of the proximity to Benidorm to explore this municipality.

What is the best time to visit Benidorm?

Don’t let the weather stop you from exploring Benidorm’s many attractions. If you want to go in the summer season, you’ll find the weather to be around 29°C. However, if you decide to go in the winter season, you’ll have a climate of 8°C.
