Airalo’s eSIM card data plans for Jordan are for 7 and 30 days, and prices range from $6.5 to $18. Airalo is one of the cheapest brands on the market, however, their data plans have very limited gigabytes and you will most likely run out of data in the middle of your trip and have to keep recharging. This means that in the end the costs will increase and you will end up paying more than you imagine.

---|---|
7 days – 1 GB | 6,5$ |
30 days – 3 GB | 18$ |

Ubigi is a slightly different eSIM card providerthan the rest of the data plan companies for traveling abroad. While with other brands you have to choose and buy the plan and then proceed to install the eSIM, with Ubigi it’s the other way around. First you can install the eSIM for free and then add credit depending on the gigabytes you are going to use. You can pay in dollars, euros, pounds and yen.
On their website and App you won’t find any plans for Jordan, but you will find several for Europe that include the country, another for the Middle East and two more global ones. In total you can choose from 7 data plans between 500Mb and 10GB. Prices range from $7 to $78.
These eSIMs are intended for people who travel a lot and for long periods. The downside is that all of their plans have data limits and you can run out of internet in the middle of your trip.

5 GB (Global) – 30 days | 68$ | 68€ | 59£ | 9600¥ |
Luckily, their App works very well and in addition to buying the eSIM from there, you can install and recharge it if necessary. Also, Ubigi’s eSIMs allow for data sharing with other devices
A curious thing about Ubigi eSIM cards is that they also work in cars with internet. Some models of Jaguar, Fiat, Land Rover, Alfa Romeo or Jeep already incorporate this technology.
In this table, you can see how we evaluate each feature of Ubigi’s eSIM cards. And if you want to know our opinion about Ubigi eSIMs, check out this post: Our Ubigi opinion: is it worth it?

3 | 3 | 4 | 4 | 4.5 | 4 | 4 | 4.8 | 3,9 |
5. SimOptions and its marketplace
Advantages | Offer regional, country or global data packages. Sim Options eSIM cards are easy to purchase and install. They have eSIM cards for 160 countries. |
Disadvantages | Gigabytes are limited to 10GB and they do not have cards with unlimited data. Short-term plans have very limited gigabytes. Features of eSIMs for the same country vary according to the brand contracted. No eSIM card for Jordan allows recharging data. Technical support depends on each brand and good customer service cannot be guaranteed. Speed depends on each brand of eSIM card. No App to control data consumption. |
Sim Options is an eSIM card marketplace where local mobile carriers in each country sell their eSIM cards. The brand, with offices in Paris, Thailand and Hong Kong, offers data plans for eSIM cards in more than 160 countries and also have regional and global plans.
For Jordan you will find on their website only three data plans of 15, 15 and 30 days with a limit of 10GB. The price is $19.9 and $39.9.
The main drawback of Simoptions is that its website is a bit chaotic and the data plans, as they are from different brands, are very disparate and their features vary a lot, not only price, speed or duration, but also technical support, the possibility of recharging or data sharing. This will force you to look in detail at each brand and will make it harder for you to make a decision.
Data plan | Price in Dollars |
---|---|
8 days – 6 GB | 19,9$ |
15 days – 6 GB | 39,9$ |
14 days – 10 GB | 39,9$ |
Our personal experience is that with SimOptions cards, you waste a lot of time comparing one to another. In addition, the price is high, you can only pay in dollars, and they don’t give you the guarantee of a good technical support. Here we leave you this ranking where we rate SimOptions eSIM cards from 1 to 5 and in this post you can read about our opinion and that of other customers about the brand: Our opinion about Sim Options: is it worth it?

Conclusion of which is the best eSIM for Jordan
We have already seen that each eSIM card for Jordan has specific features that may or may not work for your trip but, something very important before making the decision to buy we should ask ourselves:
- How much internet will I need?
- How long will I use the service for?
- Do I need to share data?
- Is my cell phone compatible?
And according to your needs choose the option that best suits you. For us and from experience we usually do not have the exact data of the average amount of internet we consume daily and when we travel it is difficult to know how much GB we are going to need and more than anything else not to run out of internet at any time. For this reason, the best option for us are the eSIM with unlimited data if we want to travel without worries. In the case of Jordan, the only brand that offers unlimited data is Holafly.
If you need to be able to share your data, we advise you to calculate the approximate average internet consumption you will need for your trip before purchasing. Here is a table to help you estimate the gigabytes you will need based on your usual hourly platform consumption.
Platform | Gigabyte consumption per hour |
0.12 GB – 0.18 GB | |
0.12 GB – 0.18 GB | |
0.06 GB | |
Tiktok | 0.18 GB – 0.8 GB |
Netflix | 0.3 GB – 7 GB |
Youtube | 0.14 GB – 1.7 GB |
Amazon Prime | 0.8 GB – 6 GB |
Which eSIM brands allow data sharing?
Many times when we travel we want toshare data with other devices and for Jordan only some providers like Ubigi, Airalo and some brands of SimOptions make it possible. But remember that these are GB plans and if you share data they will run out sooner.

eSIM installation process for Jordan
Once you have decided on the service that best suits your needs, the installation process for eSIM cards is always simple and quick, but it is true that there are some companies that make it even easier. The first thing to do before buying is to check if your mobile is compatible with the eSIM of the brand. This information you can check on the website of each provider, and in the case of Ubigi, downloading the App tells you if your phone is compatible.
The purchase of the eSIM for Jordan can be done through the web in the case of some brands such as Holafly or SimOptions, or through the app such as Airalo or Ubigi. Holafly’s website is very intuitive and easy to use, while SimOptions’ is quite complicated to understand and you will have to read a lot.
The only brands that allow installation through the App are Airalo and Ubigi, and in the case of Holafly, from the App you can get the code to install the eSIM manually without using a computer. You can also do the installation scanning a QR code that you will receive by mail as soon as you have completed the purchase with Holafly, SimOptions or Maya Mobile.
Technical support from eSIM providers for Jordan
On the other hand, it is very important to consider the technical service to help you in the installation process and solve any doubt or problem. Most brands such as Maya Mobile, Airalo or Ubigi have a chat bot. In the case of SimOptions, technical support will depend on the brand of eSIM card you have chosen. And in the case of Holafly technical support is via web chat or WhatsApp which guarantees that you will talk to a person and in your language.
Other options for having internet in Jordan
Although eSIM cards are the best option to have internet in Jordan for all the advantages and conveniences they offer, there are other alternatives as we tell you below. For the moment, here we leave you this table with all the reasons why we prefer to use travel eSIM cards rather than other options.
Convenience | Immediate delivery and activation upon purchase. Pre-purchase prior to travel. Easy installation; unlike SIM cards, you don’t have to remove the original card. You’ll be connected as soon as you land, no need to find a shop first. You’ll find tailor-made plans to suit the duration and needs of your trip. No dependency on batteries, as with Pocket wifi. You won’t have to carry an extra device during your trip, like the Pocket Wifi. |
Tranquility | 24h technical support in English, unlike with a SIM or Pocket Wifi. You won’t have to worry about forgetting or losing any device other than your mobile. |
Security | Without using public wifi networks vulnerable to hacking. Avoid entering personal data in endless forms to get Wifi. No need to open or manipulate your mobile as with eSIM cards. |
1. SIM cards for Jordan
SIM cards are one of the most widespread options today, but that does not imply that they are the best option, since as we show below they have quite a few drawbacks.
Advantages | A variety of brands and data plans to choose from. Installation is quick. They can be purchased online or in physical shops. You can make calls and send messages with a local number. |
Disadvantages | You have to exchange it for your regular SIM card, which can be lost or damaged. You have to open and handle the mobile phone during the installation process. When your travel SIM contract runs out, you have to replace it with another one. You will not be able to keep your regular phone number. You have to travel to buy it or wait for the card to arrive at home. |
In Jordan there are several companies that sell eSIM cards both at the airport and in the commercial or tourist areas. The best eSIM cards for tourists are the prepaid cards from Zain, Unmiah and Orange. Zain is the leading brand in the country, but Orange has better coverage. The price varies a lot depending on gigabytes, contract length or usage, but get the idea that the price will be around 10€ per week. Orange is the most expensive brand.
2. Rent a Pocket WiFi
Another alternative for connecting to the internet in Jordan is to rent a Pocket WiFi, i.e. a portable router with which you can access the internet wherever you go.
Advantages | It can be used by several devices at the same time. You can choose the gigabyte package that suits you best. No need to install anything on our mobiles. |
Disadvantages | It is one of the most expensive options. There are few brands to choose from. Long-term contracts are the norm. In addition to the data plan, you have to pay rent, insurance and shipping costs. The battery lasts at most 6 hours. If you use it with other people you have to be in the same room. You have to carry it with you wherever you go and you run the risk of losing it. |
Some brands that rent these routers for Jordan are Wifivox, Mywebspot or TravelersWifi. TravelersWifi is priced at $5.9 per day and can connect to 5 devices. It also offers a global plan that includes many more countries for $7.9. Mywebspot costs about $10 per day and Wifivox $8 per day.
This option is interesting when we only need internet in a very specific space, for long periods of time or when we travel with more people, since everyone can benefit from the connection and share the costs.
3. Search for free WiFi networks in Jordan
As you can imagine, this is the cheapest option. However, as you may already know, it is also the most frustrating option in most cases. Slow connection, time limit or eternal forms that promise WIFI after giving all your data.
Advantages | It’s free. No need to install anything on our mobiles. |
Disadvantages | It is difficult to find free wifi networks. Public wifi networks are often slow or have connection problems. You often have to fill in forms and give your personal details. Some free wifi networks are time-limited. You should always connect close to the router. They are vulnerable to hacking. |
This is an option that should be used with caution for security reasons. Public WiFi hotspots are very vulnerable to hacks or cyber-attacks, through which they access your private data. It is therefore recommended to spend as little time as possible connected, use it for specific queries and do not expose personal data.
These are some places where you can find WiFi is your trip in Jordan: the Ezeiza airport, in the Aeroparque, in the Salta airport, cafes and accommodations.
Nowadays, there are also APPs that tell you where to find WiFi points, as well as Facebook, which also offers this service.
4. Activate roaming for Jordan
One of the options that is losing more and more popularity due to its high costs is roaming, also known as data roaming. It is the simplest option as you can receive calls and connect to the Internet without having to install anything or change your phone number, however, the bills are very high.
There are several companies that offer roaming service in Jordan such as Movistar, Yoigo, Vodafone and Orange. The cost of roaming in Jordan can vary according to the operator you use, normally the cost goes between 6 and 15 euros per MB used. Think that for only 19€ you will have a Holafly eSIM with unlimited data.
Before embarking on a trip it is recommended to ask your usual carrier about the cost of roaming so that you can compare with other services such as eSIM cards.
If in the end you decide to use another option, remember to turn off data roaming on your cell phones or change the main line in the case of using an eSIM.
Advantages | No installation on our mobile. No extra services to sign up for. You can receive calls, send messages and connect to the internet immediately. |
Disadvantages | It is the most expensive option. Sometimes it is activated without realising it. Not all telephone companies offer this service. |
Frequently asked questions about how to have internet in Jordan
eSIM cards allow you to have internet on your mobile phone when you travel abroad without having to remove your usual SIM card, as is the case with SIM cards. This is possible thanks to a chip that is built into the latest generation of mobile phones.
The purchase of the eSIM data plan can be done through the website or the App of some brands. Choose your destination, the duration and the gigabytes of the data plan and pay securely.
The installation and activation of the eSIM is a really easy procedure that will only take a few minutes.
Once you have verified that your mobile phone is compatible with the product and chosen the data plan that best suits your needs, go to the mobile data settings on your smartphone and select “add data plan”. The camera will then open so you can scan the QR code that you will have received in the mail after the purchase. The installation and activation of your card will then begin.
This process must be carried out with an internet connection, which is why it is recommended that you do it before setting off on your trip or as soon as you arrive at the hotel.
Most models of popular brands such as Apple, Samsung, Motorola, Huawei or Google are compatible as long as they are recent models. Several iPads are also compatible. However, it is best to consult the website of each provider, where they will indicate all the compatible models.
SIM cards can be purchased in physical shops or online, with delivery times ranging from 48 to 72 hours. There are also companies that offer same day express delivery.
The only brand in Jordan that offers unlimited data is Holafly.
It is best to activate it just before your trip as you will need an internet connection.
Data packages usually have a duration of 7, 15 and 30 days.
Unlimited data plans do not normally allow data sharing, but plans with a specific number of GBs included, as is the case with Jordan, do.
The data of the unlimited plans is really unlimited. Note in any case that local mobile operators may temporarily reduce the speed if you make a very intensive use of applications such as Netflix or Youtube. These limits are more intended to avoid network saturation by a few users.
