Things to do in Niagara Falls?

Journey Behind the Falls

The Journey Behind the Falls is a set of underground tunnels leading directly to an observation deck behind the Horseshoe Falls, and has become one of the most visited attractions in Niagara Falls.

Walking through these tunnels will make you feel like you’re on a real adventure and, once you reach the viewing platform, you’ll be able to enjoy the views as you watch the water fall right in front of you. To access the Journey Behind the Falls, you’ll have to go to the entrance at the Table Rock Center and take the lift, which descends to a depth of 40 metres. This is a spectacular sight that will undoubtedly stay with you for life.

Aquarium of Niagara

Visiting the Aquarium of Niagara is a great plan once you’ve finished seeing the Falls, especially if you’re travelling with children. In addition to being located in a unique place, inside this aquarium you will find fun for both adults and children.

From seahorses to penguins and sea lions, inside the aquarium you can find more than 1,500 animals, as well as some of the most exotic aquatic species. You will be able to explore different ecosystems, from the Great Lakes to the famous coral reefs. What’s more, once you’ve finished seeing the animals, you can see several exhibitions where you’ll have a great time surrounded by animals. The kids will love it!

Horseshoe Falls at Niagara Falls

Horseshoe Falls is one of the two main Falls, being the one on the Canadian side. It is located between Table Rock House and Terrapin Point, and whose name comes from the curved shape of the falls.

There’s no doubt that the Horseshoe Falls will be one of the most impressive waterfalls you’ve ever seen, and that’s no surprise considering its sheer size and force with which it falls into the water. It’s definitely one of the most special sights that you can’t miss on your trip to Niagara Falls.

Ziplining at Niagara Falls

Better known as the WildPlay Niagara Falls MistRider Zipline, this breathtaking zip line gives you the opportunity to experience a unique adventure and see the falls from an unbeatable perspective.

At a height of more than 67 metres, this zip line travels up to 700 metres at 70 km/h. As well as being one of the top activities for travellers, you’ll feel like a bird as you fly over the falls at very close range, feeling both the air and the force at which the water falls. If you feel confident enough, we recommend taking a camera with you to photograph the falls from an unbeatable angle. Don’t miss this opportunity!

Voyage to the Falls boat trip

One experience you definitely can’t miss on your trip to Niagara Falls is the breathtaking Voyage to the Falls boat tour. This route will take you scarily close to the falls, travelling the length of the Niagara Gorge.

The boat passes some of the most impressive waterfalls, such as the Bridal Veil Falls and the American Falls. When you’re near them, you can view them from inside the glass-enclosed boat, or take the extreme option and go outside to enjoy the full experience. Don’t forget to bring a waterproof jacket to avoid getting splashed!

Skylon Tower at Niagara Falls

The Skylon Tower is without a doubt one of the most famous attractions in Niagara Falls. This comes as no surprise, as at 775 metres tall it offers the most breathtaking views of the falls.

At the top of the tower, you’ll not only be able to enjoy an incredible view of the falls, but you’ll also find a great entertainment area where you can stop for lunch or dinner. To get to the top, you’ll need to take the famous Yellow Bug Elevators, which reach the top in just 52 seconds. We recommend going up at sunset for spectacular views of Niagara Falls with the setting sun in the background, as well as a chance to see the skylines of New York, Toronto and Buffalo. You’ll be mesmerised!

Visit Niagara-on-the-Lake

Niagara-on-the-Lake is a small but pretty town on the Canadian side of Niagara Falls, a destination not to be missed not only for its charm but also for its proximity to the falls.

In this city you will feel a very typical atmosphere of the 1920s and 1930s, mainly due to its period architecture. Despite its small size, it is a very popular place for travellers. It offers great food, as well as several hiking trails, a host of wineries and, last but not least, the famous Shaw Festival. Don’t hesitate to visit this town during your trip and stroll through its charming little streets while you get to know its history and culture. You’ll love it!
