In Nicaragua there isn't "one climate", there are microclimates. This calendar reflects the best time to travel to the Pacific and lake regions — the Caribbean follows its own pattern.

The local currency is the Nicaraguan córdoba (NIO). US dollars are also widely accepted in tourist areas. Carrying small notes in both currencies is useful for everyday purchases.
Spanish is the main language. On the Caribbean coast, you'll also hear English, English Creole, and Indigenous languages.
The Pacific and lake regions are generally driest from November to April. The Caribbean follows a different weather pattern, so the best timing depends on where you want to go.
