We are real experts in organising trips and we have the best tool to do it, Passporter. A mobile app that will guide you step by step throughout your trip, while you are planning it and even once you are at your destination so that you don’t leave anything to do and have all the information you need in the palm of your hand. In this post we give you the best tips on how to plan a trip to Jordan using Passporter, the ultimate tool for organising and sharing your travels with the world.

1. Select your dates, the first step in planning a trip to Jordan

The first step in planning a trip to Jordan, or any other destination for that matter, is to select the dates, so it is interesting to know what is the best time to travel to Jordan.

The best time to travel to Jordan is during spring, from March to May, and autumn, from September to November. During these periods, the weather is generally pleasant, with mild and pleasant temperatures for exploring the country’s various tourist sites. The days are sunny and there is less chance of rain, allowing you to enjoy outdoor activities to the fullest.

In summer, June to August, Jordan experiences hot weather, especially in the Jordan Valley and desert regions. Temperatures can be extremely high, exceeding 40°C in some areas. However, if you don’t mind the intense heat, this is the perfect time to enjoy the beaches of the Red Sea and Dead Sea.

During the winter, December to February, temperatures can be cool, especially in mountainous areas such as Petra. Occasional showers may occur and some regions, such as the Wadi Rum desert, may experience cooler temperatures at night. However, this is a good time to explore historic sites and enjoy the lower tourist crowds.

2. Register on Passporter and log in

To use Passporter you must create an account and remember that there is no cost. You can do this manually by entering your email or password and creating a username or use one of your networks to make it even easier and faster.

To create the itinerary you can do it either from the app or from the web. That is, you can register and start creating your itinerary from our website passporterapp.com without having to download the app. But if you prefer to do it directly from the app, Passporter is available at:

3. Get your flights and accommodation

To get the best prices on flights and accommodation in Jordan, the best option is to use comparison sites and not to book directly with an airline or hotel without comparing what other options are available.

As you probably already know, the most famous comparison sites are Skyscanner and Booking. Skyscanner is a flight and travel search engine that allows you to compare prices from different airlines to find the best flight options. Booking, however, is an online accommodation booking platform that offers a wide variety of options, from hotels to flats and villas, allowing users to search, compare prices and make bookings in different destinations around the world.

As we at Passporter know how useful price comparators can be, from our mobile app you have direct access to Skyscanner to simplify your search. Once you search for the destination for which you want to plan your trip, in this case Jordan, you will find a tab to search for your transport, from Skyscanner, or to add your bookings in case you already have it and thus have all the important information at hand and on a single platform.

4. Plan your travel itinerary to Jordan with Passporter

Once you have your account you can create your itinerary from scratch by selecting the places you want to visit or create a copy of a community traveller’s itinerary and customise it to your liking. This way, you won’t have to start from scratch and you’ll have the inspiration of another traveller.

In short, when it comes to planning you will be able to:

  • View locations on a map and rearrange them.
  • Get inspiration from other travellers’ free itineraries with their photos and location.
  • And best of all, save all the information about the places you browse in one place.

We explain how to do it step by step.

a. Find your destination: Jordan; An essential part of planning your trip

Once you have registered, you can search for your destination: Jordan, Petra, Amman… There you will find hundreds of places shared by the community of travellers. On Passporter you will find categories such as:

  • The most popular spots.
  • The most exclusive, like rooftops with the best views.
  • The most hidden ones.
  • The best neighbourhoods in each destination.

b. Name your travel itinerary

You can give it a personalised name (“My trip to Jordan”) and decide whether you want it to be private for you and your friends or public for the whole community. Remember that we are a community and you can follow other travellers and vice versa, so we recommend you to share your itineraries so that more people can discover those places you liked so much on your trip and follow your recommendations.

c. Add the selected places to your travel itinerary

The next step in planning your trip to Jordan is to add the sites to your itinerary. There are several ways to add places to your travel itinerary. One is by searching directly in our community, another way is by creating the place and adding the address so that it is placed on your route map correctly and finally by using the Passporter Chrome extension but we will explain this later. This way you will have a lot of variety and while you see amazing places in each destination and decide on the ones that inspire you the most and where you want to go, save as many as you like in your planned travel itinerary. As many as you want.

When you search for, say, “Petra” you’ll find hundreds of places you’ll want to add to your itinerary. From cultural must-sees, such as “Al Khazna” the Petra Treasury, “the Royal Tombs”, and the “Petra Roman Amphitheatre”, to interesting places in the surrounding area such as the city of “Aqaba” or “Amman”, the capital of Jordan.
