Holafly and Nomad eSIM Card Brand Comparison

1. Who offers better speed and data limit, Nomad or Holafly?

Based on our experience we can tell you that one of the most important factors when choosing an eSIM card is the gigabyte limit. Nobody wants to run out of data in the middle of a trip, so we believe that in this aspect the best option is the eSIM cards with unlimited data from Holafly. This way you won’t have to monitor your gigabyte consumption or worry about buying another eSIM again.

Nomad does not offer cards with unlimited data, however, from its App you will be able to top up your eSIM before the contract runs out without having to install a new one. The downside is that you will have to pay again.

At Passporter we always recommend the eSIM cards with unlimited data such as those offered by Holafly to avoid unnecessary worries.

2. Which eSIM has better duration of Holafly or Nomad plans

The vast majority of Nomad’s eSIM plans have a duration of 1, 15 or 30 days, but this varies greatly depending on the destination country or provider. There are also plans for 3, 7 or 60 days, but not for all destinations.

The Holafly cards are best suited for all types of travel as their data plans can be for 5, 10, 15, 15, 20, 30, 30, 60 and 90 days. They are perfect for express travel as well as for digital nomads or students abroad.

3. Who has a better price, Holafly or Nomad?

Nomad is significantly more expensive than Holafly. For example, a US eSIM card from Holafly with unlimited data for 30 days costs €69, and with Nomad, with a 50GB limit, it costs €118. In this respect there is no doubt that Holafly is much better.

4. Who offers better technical support, Holafly or Nomad?

Holafly’s technical support is one of the best in the industry as they respond in less than a minute at any time of the day and in several languages: Spanish, English, German, French, Italian, and Japanese. If you have any questions or problems during the purchase and installation process, they will solve them quickly through their chat or Whatsapp, which opens automatically when you buy the eSIM. Nomad’s customer service is exclusively in English through their in-App chat or by email.

5. Do Holafly and Nomad eSIMs allow data sharing?

One of the advantages of Nomad’s eSIM cards is that they allow data sharing with other devices. In your mobile’s settings you can configure your data plan to allow this option. Keep in mind that if several devices use the eSIM at the same time you will run out of data sooner. Holafly cards do not offer this service.

6. Which app is better, Nomad’s or Holafly’s?

Nomad has an App where you can buy your eSIM plan and install it directly on your mobile. It is a point in favor of the brand as it greatly streamlines the purchase and installation process. However, it is only available for iOS in the U.S., Canada, Mexico, UK, Australia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Japan, France, Germany, Italy, Greece, Belgium, Netherlands, Spain, Cyprus, Israel, India, UAE and Morocco.

Holafly also has an App where you can check your remaining contract time and consult how to install the eSIM manually in case you make the purchase with your smartphone.

7. Who offers the best buying and installation process?

On the website of both brands you can choose your travel destination and purchase the eSIM data plan that suits you best. Then you will receive an email with instructions to install the eSIM and a QR code along with a numeric code to install it manually.

In the case of Holafly, you can also check this numerical code in their App so you don’t need to rely on a computer to install.

If you purchase the eSIM from the Nomad App, you will be able to do the installation directly from there, but remember that you will need the internet to do this.

8. Recharge the eSIM (if you run out of data)

It is possible to recharge Nomad’s eSIM cards once installed through its App so you don’t have to redo the installation if you run out of data. However, keep in mind that you will need to recharge before the data plan expires.

Holafly doesn’t offer this service because it doesn’t need to since with its unlimited data plans you’ll never run out of gigabytes.

And if you want to know more about Holafly, we invite you to visit this post where we provide more details: Our opinion of Holafly: is it worth it?, and this one if you want to know more about Nomad’s eSIM: Our opinion of Nomad: is it worth it?

1. Holafly Trustpilot reviews

The truth is that my experience was very good, at the beginning it was a little difficult to get connectivity but nothing that a Holafly WhatsApp operator could not solve…I would go for it again without doubt…in my case I took the 10 day card for New York and it was perfect.

Sandra Mata DE LA Concepcion, Trustpilot

Very good personalized attention to solve your problems.
For a trip to Israel, Jordan and Egypt I hired two eSIM, one valid for the first two and one for Egypt. In the first two countries very good coverage and speed. In Egypt not so much, sufficient coverage in Cairo and scarce and at some point null in the rest, but perhaps attributable to the poor structures of the country.

Bernardino, Trustpilot

Excellent service from Wayre!!! I had previously used HolaFly’s service and everything was perfect. Now with the change to eSim for my mobile version I can’t use it but I have made the purchase for a family member who is leaving soon for the USA.

Jacinto, Trustpilot

Excellent service, very secure transaction and very very quick to help me with my questions. Highly recommended! Wayra was the one who assisted me and she is great, if you are assisted by her, consider yourselves lucky!

2. Nomad Trustpilot Reviews

I have free international data with my US phone carrier, but it is VERY slow. Nomad solved that for me. 10 days in Australia and I paid $11 for normal speeds. It was totally worth it. Excellent customer service too, as I accidentally bought an additional plan and they refunded me no questions asked. I would definitely use them again.

Airrayd, Apple Store

I traveled from Singapore to the US for a three week vacation and the eSIM card worked perfectly. Good network access and no activation or network quality issues. Also, it is really good value for money. For two cell phones I only paid $35 total. Highly recommended.

ZQ_Penguin, Apple Store

I used this app when I traveled in Indonesia. The price is reasonable. And I can search for any plan I need. Also, the signal of the device is strong. I can connect to the internet in some remote area, such as Komodo. download it if you have plans to travel abroad!

Sponge999888777, Apple Store

The application is fine, but the connectivity and service in France was hopeless and the technical support was very limited. I was told to perform the same configuration change. In the end I gave up and went with a competitor who proved to be flawless.

Which eSIM card is better Nomad or Holafly

The eSIM cards of one brand and another differ in a few details that can make a difference during your trip. On Trustpilot you’ll see that Nomad has a score of 3.1, while Holafly has a score of 4.5. This means that users are much happier with Holafly than with Nomad. In addition, reviews of Holafly cards are much more positive.

The purchase of the eSIM in both cases can be done through the web, and with Nomad also from its App, which allows you to install it directly. With the Holafly App you will be able to check the number for manual installation and the remaining days of your contract. At the end of the purchase you will receive an email with installation instructions and a QR code to make the activation if you do not want to do it with the App or manually.

When comparing eSIM card brands the price is one of the most influential aspects in the final decision. Nomad cards are priced between €4.5 and €225, and Holafly cards are priced between €9 and €99, but only the latter provider offers unlimited data.

When we travel we don’t want to run out of data in the middle of our vacation, so eSIM cards with unlimited data are the best option if we want to travel without worries. In this case, the only brand that offers unlimited eSIM data plans is Holafly. With Nomad, data is likely to run out at some point. The good thing is that you’ll be able to top up from their App.

On the other hand, we also think that your eSIM card has to fit the duration of your trip and not the other way around. That’s why we appreciate when brands are flexible with contract lengths. In this case, Nomad’s eSIMs have a duration of 7 or 30 days while with Holafly’s you can choose between 5, 10, 15, 15, 20, 30 and 60 days of contract, which is a great convenience.

And finally we always like to mention the importance of customer support, which can be of great help. Based on our experience we can tell you that it is a great advantage that this service is in many languages, as this way you will avoid misunderstandings and you will not lose any information with the translation. Right now the only brand that offers technical assistance in English and other languages 24/7 is Holafly.

At Passporter we want to avoid all kinds of worries during our trips, that’s why we consider that Holafly cards with unlimited data are the best option to have internet quickly, easily and without complications.
